World Kindness Day, The Treebath Way
November 13th marks World Kindness Day. This day is internationally observed on November 13th annually to promote the importance of being kind to yourself, to others, and to the world itself. This day was founded in 1998 by an international collection of NGO’s who made up the World Kindness Movement. You can find a complete guide to World Kindness Day here.
World Kindness Day is a global day that promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world. The purpose of this day, celebrated on November 13 of each year, is to help everyone understand that compassion for others is what binds us all together. This understanding has the power to bridge the gap between nations.
At Treebath we LOVE World Kindness Day- it brings together the principles of Shinrin-Yoku, mindfulness, and self-care together in one beautifully wrapped package! This November (or month of Thankfulness) we’re working hard to be kinder all month long, and we’re hoping that you’ll try it too! So, how can you celebrate World Kindness Day, the Treebath way?
Kindness to … The World
We only have one earth, and so it’s important to treat it with kindness and respect at every opportunity. It’s simple to be kinder to the planet, and it really doesn’t take much effort!
Plant a tree
Recycle your drinks can
Walk somewhere you would normally drive to
Kindness to … Others
Kindness is like a ripple effect. Your kindness can inspire others to act kindly, so do a good deed today and know that one simple action has helped many people beyond you.
Donate your old clothes
Buy someone a coffee
Smile when you pass someone by
Kindness to … Yourself
Don’t forget yourself this World Kindness Day! Kindness and positivity starts from within, so be a little nicer to yourself today and discover how it can help more than just yourself.
Take 30 minutes to do something you enjoy
Listen to a self-love meditation
Talk more gently to yourself when you make a mistake (you’re only human after all)
Our motto this World Kindness Day?
Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant.
—Robert Louis Stevenson
Every new day is an opportunity to do something good. It isn’t about what you take from the world, but what you give, so give back this World Kindness Day and see your seeds of change flourish. Each little act of kindness can have a big impact, so give a smile or hold open a door today- you never know what you could reap.
We hope that you’re as inspired as us to be kind (and thankful!) this November. Let us know how you’re celebrating World Kindness Day in the comments below, email us at youmatter@tree-bath.com, or let us know on our socials!
