Staying Healthy and Happy in Unhealthy Times

During this virus season and with a lot of scare mongering in the press we have had a look around to summarize what the experts say we should be doing in order to keep happy and healthy during this viral and flu season.

The corona virus is one everyone’s radar right now. There a few courses of action we can take, these include the following as recommended by HealthyChildren.org:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

  • Keep your kids away from others who are sick or keep them home if they are ill.

  • Teach kids to cough and sneeze into their arm or elbow, not their hands.

  • Clean and disinfect household objects and surfaces in your home.

The CDC also has a guide named Interim Guidance for Preventing the Spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Homes and Residential Communities. This guide is more in depth with several aspects taken into consideration.

In addition we recommend common sense - if we stay calm and informed as a community as a whole we will be better equipped to deal with this and can hopefully limit any potential large scale spreading. It is up to us to take action.

We wish you a healthy winter season to you and your loved ones!
